I would like to welcome and congratulate two Board of Governors who were re-elected to serve another two-year term: Matt Brittain (NCMB) and Eileen Garrity (MAB). I also welcome Khadijia White-Thomas (CANB), our new Board member. I would like to point out that another impressive group of candidates sought a position on the Board of Governors for the 2019-2021 term. Also, the NCBC members re-elected our Secretary, Shannon Morris, to serve another two-year term. We will significantly benefit from the dedication and enthusiasm these individuals bring to the organization, and I look forward to working with them.

What’s in store for 2020?
NCBC is planning a specialized Employee Dispute Resolution Training in March 2020. We are currently working with Jill Langley, the AO’s Judicial Integrity Officer. This training will benefit EDR Coordinators and Court Unit Executives.
Early next year, we will gear up for our membership drive. Mary Schott, Membership Committee Chair, working together with the Membership Committee, has several items in store for a successful membership campaign.
Our annual educational conference is slated for July 6 – 9 in Anaheim, California. Education Committee Co-Chairs Eileen Garrity and Khadijia White-Thomas have begun work with their committee members and are planning another exceptional educational program for our 40th annual conference. We look forward to hearing their updates on conference planning in the next few months.
Carolyn Baker (Mentorship), Matt Brittain (Benefits), and Mona Sparks (Awards and Scholarships), will all continue chairing their respective areas and are in the process of putting together their committees, along with Joe Markley (Website) and Jan Zari (Impact Editorial).
Thank you for your support! Please contact me or any of the Board members to convey ideas you might have or tell us how we might better serve you – our members. As 2019 comes to an end…I wish you a wonderful holiday season!
